Web Design
History of the Internet Timeline
-Objective: This project was completed by students so that they could learn about the internet's development, from inception to current day.
-Direction: Becca Hollinger and I decided to build our timeline around the loading bar of a web browser. The search button on the left signifies our ability to look into the past, while the arrow button on the right represents the fact that the internet is constantly developing.
-Likes: It's a clean graphic that clearly displays the information needed.
-Dislikes: The reader has to move up and down, in addition to left and right. It could also have been a little bit more creative.
-Time: Approx. 4 hours.
Basic Webpage (Black Goose Bistro)
-Objective: This project was completed by students so that they could learn basic HTML coding.
-Direction: There was little individualization in this project, as students were instructed to follow coding already set for them in an effort to learn basic HTML.
-Likes: Very simple, easy project.
-Dislikes: None.
-Time: Approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes
Endangered Animal Webpage (Hawaiian Monk Seal)
-Objective: This project was completed by students so that they could experience writing basic HTML coding without the teacher's assistance.
-Direction: I'm very much into balance, albeit asymmetrical, as shown by the zig-zagging boxes. The color scheme and box designs was inspired by National Geographic, its colors, and logos.
-Likes: First project where individualization was allowed from the start. Allowed students to struggle through code on their own.
-Dislikes: None.

Correcting Markup Webpage (You've Won)
-Objective: This project was completed by students so that they could review writing basic HTML coding by correcting markups in a given webpage.
-Direction: I decided that rather than having the text run all the way across the webpage, I was going to have it all stay relatively the same length by breaking up the paragraph with line breaks..
-Likes: Enhanced the student's understanding of markup correction and style.
-Dislikes: None.

Asian Restaurant Menu Webpage (Hawaiian Panda)
-Objective: Using a preset restaurant menu, create a webpage to display the menu using all HTML mark-up skills learned so far.
-Direction: Symmetry and "Asian" were two design themes I tried to incorporate into this webpage. Most menus I've seen in my life have been split into a two column format, with appetizers ("starters") and main dishes at the top. I tried to replicate that design scheme as best I could. The colors I used were all centered around creating a unified feel in the menu while maintaining readability.
-Likes: Allowed the student to create and design a webpage based on individual preferences and design styles.
-Dislikes: None.

CD Site (Purity Ring Official Website)
-Objective: Create a website for a band and one of their albums
-Direction: Purity Ring, the band, has simplistic yet elegant music. I tried to transfer that elegant simplicity over to the webpage through the utilization of minimalistic design style.
-Likes: First Dreamweaver project, looks good.
-Dislikes: Had to get used to new software.

Client Site (Mustang Swimming & Diving Team)
-Objective: Create a website for a real world client that fits their idea of a perfect website
-Direction: The design language needed to be simple to meet the client's needs. Minimally, there needed to be a navigation sidebar and a header. The header needed to include the current motto of the client, along with specified text. Colors needed to match the school colors of the client.
-Likes: Minimalist design style, all the colors work together, site is cohesive and easy to use, client liked site.
-Dislikes: Text is not nearly as interesting as I would like it to be, sidebar could be more interactive.
